So I'm leaving Macaroni Grill and this melody entrances me. People are talking and dishes are being slammed around. The only lyrics I can hear are the following:
"Every time I -ake up..."
The "-ake" may have been "wake". The song isn't by Kurt Nilsen or Gerry Rafferty or Fenrick lane. Since it was playing at Macaroni Grill, I'd venture a guess that it's Italian, big band, or semi-classical.
I know this isn't much information. Google has let me down, and I trust one of you has heard it. I really, really dug the melody. I'll see if I can find a mic and whistle it so you all can hear it.
I'm basically ignoring the big band/italian/classical restriction, just because anytime I've been at a Macaroni Grill it's been pretty much like random pop/contemporary/whatever the hell they want playing.

In case it's right (or even if not) I found it by just excluding the names you mentioned from my google search.
The search was:
"every time I wake up" lyrics -fenrik -nilsen
http://www.filefactory.com/file/ad8430/n/mysterymelody_wav
The song sounded much more beautiful.

edit: or maybe it's this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDL5g4G_OwY the lyric there is "every time I break up" not wake up... dunno.
