All right, so, I'm trying to set up some surround sound speakers. I've got a Sony "Compact AV system." It's a DVD player with surround speakers. I've got most everything set up. If I put a DVD in, it'll play on the surround sound. My question is though, isn't there a way to make the normal TV play on the surround sound? How uh, how would I do that?
Would the sound source be the TV or a cable box? All you would need is an audio output from either the TV or cable box hooked into the audio inputs of the surround sound system. Most of those all in one systems will have inputs for them.
Okay, thanks for that. The TV's got pale green port on the back of it that just says "audio" on it, would that be its audio output? If so, what does the cord look like so that I know what to buy?

What type of TV is it? I'm not familiar with pale green audio ports.

Page 20-21 should show you how to hook up a TV, Cable Box or game system.
