I see some orange flashing lights on the main page – what do they mean?
No, you aren't seeing a side effect from your allergy medication. You have found a Woot-Off, a short term frenzied mutation of our product posting procedure. In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. There is a half-Woot-life of 12 hours maximum on any product within a Woot-Off that does not sell out. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence, and quantity will not be announced. When Woot-Off mode is over, the orange lights will disappear and our normal schedule will resume. Depending on its success, this may be a mode we would go into once or twice a month for a relatively short duration of time (24-72 hours generally.)

oh no not a woot off
Woot just made me spend $100 on that 500g seagate hdd (it was $50), plus an external enclosure and another external enclosure for a drive I had sitting around (another $45 including shipping). Plus it's a great game week and I'm missing hours.
Say you’re the kind of soulless skeptic who can’t be convinced there’s anything good in the cold, cruel universe. So use this drive to back up your music or something. Then you only need it to fire up twice: Once when you load the files onto it, and once when you take it out of its fireproof safe inside your extra-large safe-deposit box at the bank to recover the files.
Boy, you really do have serious trust issues, don’t you?

Yep. I don't screw around with my magnetic media. Why buy something sub-par when for 20-30$ you get a 3 to 5 year warranty ?
A Kingston 8GB Data Traveler took a wrong turn somewhere and got lost out in the country. Finally, after several exhausting hours of trying to find its way back to the main road, it stopped at a farmhouse. A grizzled old farmer answered.
“Excuse me, sir,†said the Kingston 8GB Data Traveler. “I’m lost and very tired. Might you have a place where I can sleep for the night? I’m very compact, so I won’t take up much room.â€
“Sure, stranger,†the farmer answered. “as long as you don’t mind sleeping in my 19-year-old daughter’s room.â€
The Kingston 8GB Data Traveler happily agreed.
The next morning at breakfast, the farmer said, “Hope you got a good night’s sleep last night. Good thing my daughter’s away at college, or you wouldn’t have been able to sleep in her room.â€
The Kingston 8GB Data Traveler replied, “It wouldn’t have mattered. As an inanimate object, I’m not capable of feeling carnal desires anyway.â€
The farmer answered, “Yeah, I guess that’s true. Say, are you USB 2.0 compatible?â€
“Sure am,†the Kingston 8GB Data Traveler answered. “Thanks for the bed, and for breakfast.â€
“OK, then,†the farmer said.
Two hours later, the punchline showed up, gasping out an excuse about a late train. But by then the Kingston 8GB Data Traveler had moved on.
Aw, man, a Dazzle. On one hand, those fuckers usually go for three-four times this amount. On the other, I've heard their Vista compatability is shit...
Anyone notice how some things (mattresses and the copy machines in Highrise) are totally impenetrable? A steel wall, yeah that makes sense, but bullets should obliterate copy machines.
I don't know about you, but I always buy a bullet proof printer. Its a lot more expensive, but I think the advantages are apparent.
