Fallout 1 crashes

So I got fallout today and I was playing all nice and fun until I got to junk town and when I try to talk to some guy and it tries to do a cinematic the game goes black and locks up.

Is there any fix to this?

    There are quite a few official and unofficial patches for Fallout. Check out No Mutants Allowed.

    There's a high-res patch there if you're playing on a PC, plus a lot of bug fixes, etc. Other than that you should just need the "official" patch. The other patches are either unnecessary or add quests that were taken out before the game was released.

    It's free from Gametap now so I'd go with that to see if it works. How did you get Fallout from Filefront?
