Lots of bananas, few ideas on what to do with them.
I've got like 20-25 large bananas sitting in the fridge at the moment, all of them damaged and possibly a little bit maggoty, so I'm not all that keen on eating them raw. Right now my plan is to make a lot of banana bread, but that will only take care of maybe a quarter of the bananas. Step two is to make a lot more. Are there any alternatives?
Actually maggoty or just over-rip/bruised? If it's the former I'd just biff them but if it's the latter you should make banana cake (because it is awesome) and some banana smoothies. That'll take care of a few. They do last a long time frozen though so you don't need to use them all at once
No zoo unfortunately, and the wildlife around these parts is limited to monitor lizards and cobras. I don't really want to make friends with them. The semi-stray dogs won't eat them either.
The last time I froze bananas, the results were not splendid, everything turned to a strange and unpleasant brownish-gray goo, but I had peeled them before freezing, maybe I shouldn't have done that.
Put a few unpeeled bananas in the freezer, preferably the overripe ones. Then head out, buy some plain yoghurt and some oats.
If ever you're in the mood for a light and healthy breakfast or a quick mid-afternoon snack, dump some of those frozen bananas, along with the yoghurt and some oats, into a blender, mix it all up, and that makes for a good smoothie, particularly when the bananas are cold enough to chill the drink without the need for ice.
Proportion-wise it comes down to how liquidy you like your smoothies. I don't have an exact recipe since I've been making this for breakfast for a while now so I don't even think about it, but I'm sure I use up two bananas a go and that's more than enough for a big tall glass for me. If you run the risk of making too much then pour it into a glass, seal the top with Glad-wrap, and stick it in the fridge.
It'll last A DAY AT MOST if you don't drink it in the same day. After that you'd better drink it, and it may have turned a bit brown at the top, but it's still fine. If it bugs you you can scrape off the top layer.
Oh also, if you like, you can add a bit of honey pre-blending, too.
Easily one of my favorite breakfasts. Plus it's cheap and super healthy (if the yoghurt is non-fat that is)!
Unpeeled, really? That was a recipe for fail for me. How did you separate the peel from the nanner after (or before) thawing, or are you using the banana w/peel in your smoothie?
I've had much better luck peeling banana first (and excising the mushy bits), chopping them up and putting them in sealable bags (taking care to evacuate as much air as possible) and then into the freezer.

I'm in luck I actually have banana bread and I am eating a piece right now.
You should absolutely make some unless you intend to add nuts to it in which you should make it and then promptly throw it away and feel bad for putting nuts in it.

Do you live near a zoo?

If they are maggoty, turf them. Otherwise, make the biggest batch of banana cake/bread ever.
Also, do you think it's possible to get some kind of potassium test once you've finished all the bananas? I'd love to see the result.

Else, throw them out if they are disgusting.

Also, banana's foster.
peeled or unpeeled works really, but yeah I do not use the peels in the smoothie
if the peel's being stubborn I cut the banana in half length-wise then widthwise (into quarters, basically) and the peel just falls right off for me
really only works with bananas that were overripe at the time of freezing

I second the Banana Bread motion.

Pistols at dawn, sir. I shall have satisfaction.
I don't have a pistol, but if I can use my sawed off 8 gauge I'm game.
