So I just installed a GeForce FX5500 into my computer. for some reason i can no longer see my windows task bar. and when I minimize things they minimize to the right. I always left my task bar on the bottom of the screen. WTF is going on and can someone help me please? I already downloaded the newest drivers and installed them followed by a restart. So any help would be appreciated.
I would like to put something clever and about me but I fear my company will find it

I don't mean to be unhelpful or anything but...where did you find an FX5500?
Maybe the resolution is just a tad bit off and you can't see that portion of the screen? Go to control panel>display>settings tap>then move the resolution marker thing to an appropriate level and go apply. Mess around with that untill it works for you. You can't really break the computer with that so no worries. Also if you don't see display click 'Switch to classic view' and if you change it and you just get a black screen leave it for like 20 seconds and it will revert back to normal
Also, worst case scenario: reset all graphics settings to default. Then, if you're using a flat panel monitor, find the "Auto Adjust" option - it may not have properly calibrated when you installed the new card.

You can get them anywhere. They're usually used in workstations. We have about 100 FX5200s where I work.
