I gotta agree with Falcon. if you don't think he's a moron, then well, something is wrong.
He has gotten that rich that young by making horribly mediocre hip-hop which chavs and most mainstream audiences seem to lap up because it's "gangsta".

Just because the mainstream media isn't populated by intelligentsia doesn't mean that the people who take advantage of it are morons.
Paris Hilton, for example, is a moron. She just has lots of money from her family and the media uses her to their advantage, and she lets them do it because it, guess what, make her more money because it's free publicity. Maybe that's not fair because she already had money.
50 cent made some really smart, REALLY lucky business decisions, like buying a shit load of shares in Vitawater before Coca Cola bought them. Now he has all the money he needs to do what he wants. Before that, he had nothing.
Ice-T was a frickin' pimp, in the very literal sense of the word, and STILL managed to, through self promotion and savy business decisions, he was able to amass wealth and power.
Everybody bags on these guys, yet they all have lots of money and power. Hell, when it comes to hip hop, most of those guys came up from nothing and had way more to go through than most people would have to. Everyone acts like it's so easy to do, but if that was the case, everyone would do it. Taking advantage of people is how business works. You can call them morons, but they just laugh all the way to the bank on the backs of the morons who buy their shit.

See, the thing is, 50 and Ice-T are very much self-aware - they know that they're in the music business and are, to use a phrase, "in it to win it." They'll exploit the morons, and good for them - exploiting the stupid is what makes (Insert Nation Of Choice Here) great.
To say that Soulja Boy isn't self-aware is a gross understatement - I don't think he can feel his own face. Like, dude, I mean, he can touch it, but he can't, y'know, feel it. Far out, man.
