Trouble with a USB drive

Burning OrganBurning Organ Registered User regular
Alright, using a kingstong DT100 with 8 gig capacity.
Works on every computer except mine and the stores, on my third one.
What happens is: I can copy from it, but nothing to it. When trying to copy something large (Say a video or a mp3 even) it copies a bit and then says it cannot find the specified path or folder.
Tried formatting, it still works in other computers as well but not mine.
Other flash drives work in my computer and my mouse and keyboard etc, so...

Is my computer screwed?

Sounds like a power problem to me. Try using a different USB port / unplugging other USB devices / an USB hub with external power.

Do other USB devices function properly on your PC?

Yes. Chargers, mice, keyboards, harddrives and other drives.

Does the manufacturer offer drivers for your stick?

    No, it's plug and play.

I had a problem like this.
    Backup your registry first.
Unplug your USB drive. Go into the registry, search for "kingstong" and there should be a key in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\DeviceClasses". Delete it. This should make your computer reinstall the drivers for it the next time you insert it.

Have you tried it in the other ControlSet keys?
And is your OS the same as the other computers you are using?

    No, I'll get on that.

And I'm not sure about the last question, I'm using XP SP3 and I think that's what my school uses. Definetly works on a SP2 computer as well.

EDIT: Still nothing. This thing is screwing with me.

    Try Kingston's tech support.
Get an exchange or buy the two 4GB ones at Woot.

This is the third one. I don't think I'm gonna get a fourth D:

Gonna send a email to kingston shortly though.
