So I got a new guitar today. It's a Godin SD
Like that but in sunburst.
It sounds awesome, like a cross between a telecaster and SG to my ears.
What guitars do you guys have, or have just purchased.

here's my acoustic (I've since installed a cheap little piezo pickup I made)
I also have a jazz-bass copy that's got this thing installed
sounds a lot better now and I lucked out on setting it up in a way that has good action and doesn't buzz.
Yeah I've also got a Gibson acoustic. Not sure specifics on it, but. It works, sounds good, and, hey, Gibson.

ESP MH-400. Much love for this guitar. I named it Vesper.
Ibanez SZ 520QM. I don't play it as much as my ESP but it's pretty slick. I named it Izra.
Ibanez SR700. I call it Bumblebee. It's all I could think of and decide on. Love playing it.

Uprights are enough of a stretch, if space is a problem. Maaaaaybe the really classy concert keyboards with weighted full-size keys.

well I mean if you're just learning how to play piano there's always the possibility you don't have the capital to drop on an upright piano or fancy keyboard.

In addition I've got a Fender MIM Strat and an Epiphone Les Paul, one of the lower end models I think.

Sure if you're ok with then having to completely re-learn the instrument to fix the awful technique you'll develop on something like that.

You should only practice on a keyboard if you are practicing for keyboard. I know a lot of people think it's a great idea, but I tried it when I was younger and it was terrible. Luckily, Gram had a piano so I got to play on that a couple times a week.
The technique, feel, weight, all of that is just too different. It's actually worse for a beginner- an experienced student knows what habits to fight, a beginner might not even know that the things he's doing wrong are things.
Now I just have to get a job and save up some more money.
Maybe I should think about upgrading now that I'm slowly getting near the one year point.
The concert's gonna be rad, it's the day before my 18th, so basically it'll be the best weekend ever.

And Joe is anything but wanking, really. That song is a kinda bad example, but he does some great stuff that keeps the flashiness to a minimum.

This is a good example, he plays it the way a vocalist would sing it. He 'breathes' and phrases it like a vocalist, not a continuous note fest.
I'm selling two of my guitars as soon as possible (Mexican Fender Satin Strat with some Dimarzio pups and an LTD EC-100QM (LP style) with EMGs) and buying my friends LTD F-100FM before he goes off to the Marines.
