The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
My father, who is a woodworker as a hobby, is in the middle of making an acoustic guitar right now. He's using some pretty fancy stuff to get the... body thing in that shape.
Those are actually really nice if you have not a lot of space.
My sister in law has one and she loves it
Are you fucking insane.
No.
Uprights are enough of a stretch, if space is a problem. Maaaaaybe the really classy concert keyboards with weighted full-size keys.
Something like that is like vomit painted black and white.
well I mean if you're just learning how to play piano there's always the possibility you don't have the capital to drop on an upright piano or fancy keyboard.

ori's modding is stupid and arbitrary and based on no actual rule system but rather wind patterns and astrology.

Sure if you're ok with then having to completely re-learn the instrument to fix the awful technique you'll develop on something like that.
godins are totally worth it. it's too bad they don't make mine anymore (TC Artisan) because it's one of the best guitars I've played, there's just so much that's good about it.

Those roll-up things are barely a mediocre substitute for a keyboard.
You should only practice on a keyboard if you are practicing for keyboard. I know a lot of people think it's a great idea, but I tried it when I was younger and it was terrible. Luckily, Gram had a piano so I got to play on that a couple times a week.
The technique, feel, weight, all of that is just too different. It's actually worse for a beginner- an experienced student knows what habits to fight, a beginner might not even know that the things he's doing wrong are things.
The places where I used to take lessons down in Evansville always had at least two or three Godins in stock. I wish my budget for the last guitar I bought had been a little bit larger so I could have picked one up.
Now I just have to get a job and save up some more money.
I have a bass. ESP B-50 or something. It was inexpensive while not sounding like crap, so I got it.
Maybe I should think about upgrading now that I'm slowly getting near the one year point.

Toasty, I am sorry I have to drop all that on you :P
The concert's gonna be rad, it's the day before my 18th, so basically it'll be the best weekend ever.
I can't play like Joe though. Holy balls I wish I could though. I'd say my ability falls on maybe an early day James Hetfield? Cuz that's all I do. Play Metallica
And Joe is anything but wanking, really. That song is a kinda bad example, but he does some great stuff that keeps the flashiness to a minimum.
I'm selling two of my guitars as soon as possible (Mexican Fender Satin Strat with some Dimarzio pups and an LTD EC-100QM (LP style) with EMGs) and buying my friends LTD F-100FM before he goes off to the Marines.
I am also super interested in playing bass clarinet to expand my wind instrument abilites. Saxophone is so limited when it comes to performance opportunities. That is, if you play classical.

Faster action than my dads Gibson SG, incredible sound, coil-taps like sex, and the sustain is made of jesus.
Sometime soon I gonna try and tackle the piano.
PARKER, YOU'RE FIRED! <-- My comic book podcast! Satan look here!
I've got this one
here's my acoustic (I've since installed a cheap little piezo pickup I made)
I also have a jazz-bass copy that's got this thing installed
sounds a lot better now and I lucked out on setting it up in a way that has good action and doesn't buzz.
Yeah I've also got a Gibson acoustic. Not sure specifics on it, but. It works, sounds good, and, hey, Gibson.
That thing played and sounded like sex
My sister in law has one and she loves it
I can't play it for shit
ESP MH-400. Much love for this guitar. I named it Vesper.
Ibanez SZ 520QM. I don't play it as much as my ESP but it's pretty slick. I named it Izra.
Ibanez SR700. I call it Bumblebee. It's all I could think of and decide on. Love playing it.

I have no idea how to play it.
I thought you people knew this.
Horns are where it's at.

I like it, sounds pretty awesome.
In addition I've got a Fender MIM Strat and an Epiphone Les Paul, one of the lower end models I think.
The things you put on your mouth and slobber and blow at it?

You finger a guitar like a fine lady

I'm gonna see if some of the local shops have any in stock.
Finally found a destroyer! Its the reissue but im' fine with that--and they're cheap if you can track them down!
We just happened into the one I got. And it had been there for like 5 months
I'm seeing this guy on Friday! 3 days from now! Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh! I'm so excited!
I knew a couple of these already but this guy inspired me to finally work out the rest of citizen erased
I am so jealous of you MH79.
And that MH-400.
Dang man I love you.
edit: Really, Satch at least has musical qualities in his wanking. Glorious melodic wanking.

This is a good example, he plays it the way a vocalist would sing it. He 'breathes' and phrases it like a vocalist, not a continuous note fest.
