I am trying to purchase a book on Amazon, how can I tell what it is? I searched for the book but it won't tell me if it is the correct edition.

I believe it says its the 18th edition after the publisher on this page.

Though they only say 18 edition. Other books follow the same rule of thumb " publisher, 17th edition",etc.

They don't seem out and out fraudulent, but they don't get the best marks on customer service. I read a few reviews where people said they never got their book or they got the wrong book. I would probably give them a call to see what you think of them and if you get a good feeling place the order.

If you are buying a text book go to the campus book store and get the ISBN. Than go to Half.com and search by the ISBN. You can also use Amazon with the ISBN. For a textbook you are never really going to want to use the title.

So correct, especially if your textbook has an accompanying workbook or several previous editions, the titles may only be marginally different but the ISBN #'s will be distinct.
