Free, simple DVD ripping software?

Emphasis on simple. A friend wants to put some music videos from a DVD onto her iPod. I imagine that this would mean they'd have to be ripped to .avi or .mpg or somesuch, right?

The main problem is that she is not very computer-savvy and I'd like to point her in the direction of some software that's user-friendly enough so that I don't end up having to do it for her. I'm picturing something where you just load a DVD, pick out the chapters you want to rip, choose an output format/resolution and go. Anything more complicated than that is likely going to end in disaster. Any recommendations for an ultra-simple DVD ripper/converter?

Handbrake is free, relatively easy to use, and available for Mac and Windows.

    First result off Google:

Handbrake is pretty good. They have a bunch of presets (iPod, PSP, iPhone, etc.) based on what you want to play the ripped file on, but it also has a lot of advanced settings if you want to play with the resolution, compression rate, etc.

    Edit: DAMN YOU.
