I have a bit of knowledge of cnc machines, and milling bits. I think it would be interesting to expiriment with different sized bits so that the lines come out as different widths. Thicker milling bits for the outside lines, thinner ones for the insides. How about different bit tips, such as a rounded bit "U" or a pointed bit "\/". also you could add color to the piece by either having the piece coated or anadized with some color beforehand and then to the milling. Or you could fill ing the milled lines with pome sore of paint or epoxy paint like those nice lapel pins.

I'm no fucking master, but I don't exactly get a hard on from someone that can mill lines onto metal.
For the past two years, a former alum of our program has donated a set of CNCed brass candle sticks with very intricate sort of crystal patterns in them. Now, that I can get a certified hard on for.
Wow, I'm feeling the love here. Considering I learned gcode like...a week ago.
Anyways, I had fun with it and I thought I'd share it not for critical review or snarky remarks (Forbe!).
Enjoy your hard on. I hope you and your candlesticks are very happy.

you need to work on anatomy...it looks like only a head. humans have bodies.
i think that's pretty neat tesson, and dudes, as far as i know this isn't a place just for criticism, and this duder is just starting to do this stuff and he's proud of it, no need to slam shit down his throat for that.

@forbe: just so you know, I wasn't trying to be mean. I seriously dig what you do with metal.

not everyone wants to be in the rather obscure doodle thread for their first step into ac, your own thread garners more responses.
if every new webcomic artist can make their own thread i can see no reason why this would be out of place. its like a new artist posting his first portraits

Except it's traced linework from an already-existing comic. Not to mention, he seems to have no intentions to take it further.
The point in creating a thread is to get constructive criticism, not share your work with people so they can say "Oh, that's...cool." Anyone that frequents these boards should know that.
And so, our criticism is that this isn't a finished work. It is, in essence, a doodle of what could be done with metal. It's like me sketching Gabe on some notebook paper and then making a thread for it.
If, however, he were wanting to take this further, maybe create some sort of intricate metal piece, or transfer a whole comic strip onto metal, then this would be the place to ask for suggestions.
And if someone really wants to just share doodles/unfinished work/practice stuff and make a thread with it, it's far more appropriate to include a lot of work, and not just one thing. I.E.: Scoslogen.

Which is exactly why I don't show off what I do I deeply critique and find the errors in my own drawings and it actually works for myself. Showing my stuff here then would only be for like "oh dats gud"
I would be creeped out if I walked in someone's house and the walls where FILLED with Gabe and tycho portraits everywhereeee. I would probably back up and then run away

Should be viewable now.
Pretty good stuff. What are your plans for it?

Well if I told you I just started drawing today and made a terrible copy of the Mona Lisa it would still be a terrible copy of the Mona Lisa.
Just saying.
@zombie...but it's really not a terrible copy

I'd rather see an original work of yours But, Tycho would be cool too.
my point was that learning gcode a week prior to making this does not make it any more special.
