It looks really neat. But, with cartoons, voice work is usually kind of a "Make or break" factor. If I like hearing the characters talk, I'm willing to overlook a lot of crap.
Kevin Conroy not being in this was a red flag for me, and Diedrich Bader's voice work has been kind of hit and miss with me.
But it's not even out yet and I haven't heard enough to make up my mind yet. I'm hoping he pulls through on this, because I really want to like this show.
I thought the first one was the best, but I'm horny for good animation.
Man, I don't remember any of these having good animation.
You should get your memory checked.
Working through Pain and In Darkness Dwells both had some complex illustration but were let down by inconsistent animation.
Have I Got a Story for You has more interesting stylization, but considering the simplification it does with is shading and shapes, I'd again expect more consistency, especially since this was a 10 minute short.
The CG effects in some of the shorts were quite well done, and certain sequences manage to come alive (skateboarding, batman flying in a few instances, a few shots of drapery in the wind), but it's not particualrly convincing when a minute later you're looking at a character being animated by just their mouth jerking into completely the wrong shapes as they're talking. This is by far at its worst in Crossfire.
I was hoping to see much better work come out of these guys, especially Madhouse studio and 4 degrees, the final result was decent, but not great.
Given that it's now 16 years old, this other set of 10 minute shorts still impresses me quite a bit more: Almost Got 'Im
The lighting is consistently adapted properly, beautiful use of silhouette, the characters are simplified well while still being realistic in proportion, they're realized so well you can tell who they are just by looking at their hands. It's all done on actual animation cells - they couldn't even do colour correction, it was based on the limited palette that Spectrum studios had available at the time.
But all too soon, the shocks and the serums took their toll, and the boy began to share such secrets with me. Secrets that are mine alone to know... Bruce. It's true, Batsy! I know everything. And kinda like the kid who peeks at his Christmas presents, I must admit, it's sadly anti-climactic. Behind all the sturm and bat-o-rangs, you're just a little boy in a playsuit, crying for mommy and daddy! It'd be funny if it weren't so pathetic.
Oh, what the heck, I'll laugh anyway... HA HA HA HA HA HAA!
I love the bar scene with The Flash and The Prankster in that JLU episode. It was cool seeing how different The Flash's relationship with his city and his villains was.

This show is going to be so much fun, I can tell.
Translation: Yes, I am retarded
Wouldn't change the fact that it sucked.

oh gosh that looks wonderful. even if the only character I know/care about in it is batman.
It's fucking awesome.
I have to say that In Darkness Dwells was the best.
Motherfucker was fighting while injured and tripping balls.
I believe it was, yes.

Buh?

It was my favorite of the series, but I've definitely seen better animation.

HA HA HA HA HA HAA!
To most Mark Hamill is Luke Skywalker but to me he'll always be The Joker first and foremost.

Oh wow, well I'm sure if they ever showed The Flash over here then he would be The Prankster to me too.
He was good in the role on that JLU episode.
is that from a TV series?

I..I don't know
I'm afraid
It's safe... at least the stuff you'd watch on the DVD. I can't make the same claims about Jordyn.
He spilled chemicals on himself
Also he was very nice to elderly superheroes
The rest I forgot
