Wikipedia wrote:
Battlefield: Bad Company (also known as Bad Company or BF: BC) is a first-person shooter developed at EA DICE, released in the U.S. on June 23 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game was hinted at just before the release of Battlefield 2, and then announced sixteen months later.

The game applies some new features to the franchise, including an environment that can be almost entirely destroyed, besides the very basic supports of buildings and certain metallic structures like antennas and cranes, and a single-player storyline. The single player campaign and some multiplayer maps take place in Russia, the fictional Eastern European country of Serdaristan, and an unnamed fictional Middle Eastern country, in a city called Sadiz, which is supposed to be located somewhere on the Caspian Sea.

Destructible Environments

The Frostbite game engine allows 90% of the environment to be destroyed, including buildings, vegetation, vehicles, other players and the ground itself. For gameplay purposes, the frames of some buildings and objects remain indestructible to prevent total destruction of key points and to prevent the map from being completely flat. Additionally, the game features dynamic lighting to correlate with the changing environment.

Classes

In a move similar to Battlefield 2142, the number of soldier classes is lowered, resulting in a combination of the classic soldier classes. The classes in this game are: Assault, Demolition, Recon, Specialist, and Support, each containing a main weapon of choice, three secondary weapons, and a knife for quick kills.

Vehicles

Battlefield: Bad Company has an assortment of military vehicles from each of the game's three factions that can be used by the player. Tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored cars, attack helicopters, patrol boats, and golf carts are all available in the game's single player and multiplayer modes. Unlike some previous versions in the Battlefield series, fixed wing aircraft are not available in this game.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer supports up to 24 players, and runs on dedicated servers. Gold Rush was the only multiplayer mode included in the initial release of Battlefield: Bad Company. The setup of the game is an Attackers vs. Defenders scenario. The eight initial maps are Harvest Day, Over and Out, End of the Line, Ascension, Valley Run, Deconstruction, Oasis, and Final Ignition, each with destructable environments, certain atmospheres, and vehicles. One team must defend two crates filled with gold while the other team attempts to destroy the crates. Once the crates are destroyed, more of the map is available to fight on with new crates appearing, along with added reinforcement numbers. The attacking team has a limited amount of respawns to achieve their goal of capturing the 3-5 gold stashes either by setting charges or simply destroying the 2 crates of gold at each base. The defending team has an unlimited amount of respawns available, but their goal is to exhaust the attacking teams respawns.
The Conquest game mode returned to Bad Company due to overwhelming requests from players during the beta testing. Conquest was the prevalent game-mode in many of the preceding Battlefield games, and involves reducing the opponents' "ticket" meter by scoring kills and capturing strategically placed flags. This mode was available as a free download post-launch, the release date was August 7 2008. The Conquest pack included modified versions of the Ascension, End of the Line, Oasis and Harvest Day maps. A new map pack featuring more conquest maps is slated for release in October.

If you don't want read all that i'll give you a summary; It's consoles only, has some bitching destructible environments, less classes than BF2, a buttload of weapons, loads of vehicles and the good old conquest mode is back!

News
With the upcoming release of “Acta Non Verba” and “Par for the Course” multiplayer maps selected by the community, we’d also like to share information on what the additional maps selected by the Battlefield: Bad Company team here at DICE are. Drum roll please…… the winners are “Ghost Town” and “Crossing Over”. These were the additional maps that we felt would be the best for Conquest mode and coincidentally the 3rd and 4th most popular maps from community voting - great minds think alike! The team is really looking forward to sharing these new Conquest Maps with you for free this October.

More news about the update; we have not stopped looking into the VoIP issue on PS3. We are working hard here at DICE and with our partners at Sony to help improve and fix the PS3 VoIP issue. We have also seen some questions about our awards, especially the Savior Trophy and Staying Dry Wild Card. The Savior Trophy has been adjusted to be more achievable and the Staying Dry Wild Card has had its description corrected in the menu. After the update, it will read “Get 50 road kills with the boat in multiplayer”. A news announcement with a full list of fixes and changes that have been included in this update will be released in the near future.

More updates to come!

New maps are always nice, although the activity here kind of slowed down. I'll still pop it in and play if anyone sends me game invites, especially with the new maps coming out this month. I just need to get a new 360, as mine doesn't like being on more than an hour or so before it red rings.

But what do you mean PA Battlefield is maintained by Koga? PA Battlefield is my profile. :P We've got 40 people on it thus far.

Huh, if only they had been as good with the PC versions. Do you still have to lead at weird angles and can't tell if you are hitting something till it dies?

I stopped playing after Vietnam so I am out of the loop.

Uh, no, i haven't had any such problems, the leading seems normal and your sights light up when you hit someone.

God damn it, I guess it only took 4 versions and a different platform to fix their netcode.

Does that mean the new maps wont be available in the gold rush mode then?

edit: sometimes you do get slidey games, due to a poor connection, but they're not that common.

Hell the sights have had a hit indicator since BF1942.

I think there will be both conquest and gold rush versions, but we'll see.

I really hope they manage to get some maps going that feel less linear though, cause the disc maps are becoming a little predictable.
