Ow crap ow my eye

So I was walking down the street to pick up my dinner and all of a sudden I felt like I had something in my right eye. So I instinctively started to grab my upper and lower eye lids and pulled them back and rolled my eye around to try to coax whatever it was into one of the edges of my eye so it could be taken care of like an eyelash. This didn't work though and my eye started watering really bad. I ducked into a Quiznos to go to the bathroom and see what is in my eye but I didn't see a damn thing. All I saw was every vein irritated as hell and my eye watering a lot. So I got my food and got back home and starting pouring water into my eye and finally the pain subsided. However my vision in my right eye is kind of blurry. This was an hour ago and it's still persisting. It's not unbearably blurry. It's just that when I try to read text like this with just my right eye, it's difficult.

What I want to know is, do I need to go to a hospital RIGHT THE FUCK NOW or is this something that will either subside on it's own or can wait until tomorrow? I've done some googling and I don't have partial loss of vision (floaters/veils/bright lights) so it doesn't seem serious. But I want to be sure.

It's interesting how just reading this made my eyes water...

Go to the hospital, don't mess with your vision.

OK, something is messing with the most important of your five senses- go see a doctor.

Wow....it made my eyes water too.

Anywho, you should be fine. My right eye tends to swell up from time to time and I'm alright.

It's possible that you had some crap in there that scratched the cornea - which sucks, but isn't serious. I'd keep an eye on it for a few hours - if it's not better by then, go to the hospital.

As someone who wears contacts and gets crap stuck underneath them all the time (seriously, PAIN OH GOD)... I can tell you it's probably nothing, and it'll get better in a couple of hours.

If it's still bothering you tomorrow, go and see a doctor, maybe you have an infection or something.

Ok, I woke up this morning and everything seemed fine with my eye. I guess it was just still irritated. Thanks for the advice.

If he did he may have been left in the wait room for hours and he could have died/passed out. I say avoid the ER at all costs!!! /end snark

    There's a Visine for that.

But hey, if this happens again, go to the ER. You'll have to wait a little while, yeah, but they'll put some liquid in your eye that curdles (clots?.) and takes foreign objects out with it (it looks like spunk in your eye...Gross but, hey). I had this done when some ceiling dust fell into my eye. Feels kinda grainy/stingy, but it works very well.

Next time I'm there, I'll ask what it is. Good thing to have around the house, really...
