I have an interesting question. Why is Noob Saibot all black? Does anyone know why they choose for him to be that way, or was it just aesthetic?

Haha, no, I was just wondering why he was that way and the other ninjas aren't.

He was in the Brotherhood of the Shadow, and shadows are black.

Also, they wanted another character and blacking out an existing one (Kano, I think) was easier and faster than designing a new one. Obviously. He even had Kanos combos and in one of the versions when he wins, the announcer goes "Kano wins". There. It's just a hack to include another character.

It wasn't done because it was easier and faster, it was done due to space constraints. MK has always tried to cram as many characters into a game as they could and in the early days, palette swapping was an easy way to include character at minimal extra space. That's why the series used to have ninjas, female ninjas, and robots who all looked exactly the same. It's also why all the secret bosses were just different colored versions of playable characters.

Um, it's 1995. So if that's "the past" to you, then yes, you're in the past.

Now if you'll excuse me, Future Man, my girlfriend needs to make a phone call, so I have to disconnect from AOL. Later.

I wish they had kept the Dolphin moniker. That was such a superior name for a console.

Here's hoping they don't make the same mistake with any future consoles. They should just keep the codename, it always sounds better!
also.. psst Dolphin was for Gamecube
