So, the Corn Association or Corn Mafia or the Children of the Corn are now starting a delightful ad campaign designed to show people how harmless High Fructose Corn Syrup is. Now, I don't mean to grab a torch and pitchfork, but my bullshit meter is spazzing out a bit here. So, some questions...

1. Why isn't there an FDA warning on these commercials saying: Warning, this is bullshit.
2. Is there anything positive that can come from a disinformation campaign such as this?
3. Is there a place for this kind of advertising in the first freaking place?

Feel free to add... I hate the new post button, but it calls to me..

umm... I also can't spell vitamin.

they are paying money to advertise a lie against the truth that's starting to come out. It should be illegal but I don't know if there's any way it can really be made actually illegal. Someone will.

This assumption implies that you think the corn lobby is less powerful than the FDA. I assure you that the FDA is wearing the panties in that particular relationship.

At least our agricultural sector won't crash with the rest of our economy?

Congress shall pass no law restricting freedom of speech or of the press et cetera et cetera. Apparently that applies to corporations now too.

If you took away the right to lie in TV Commercials, what would politicians do to advertise their campaigns?

I kind of thought the whole "I'm so and so and I approved this message." was there to like, hold some accountability.
