It's been happening for a while, but it hasn't been a problem until recently when I got some more games and have been using my 360 more often.
Basically, after maybe 8 or 10 minutes (I haven't timed it), I get disconnected from Xbox Live. However, my computers don't lose connection. I did a Google search, but though there are people with similar problems, there are also quite a few different solutions. I certainly don't want to take the chance of trying one of these solutions and only making it worse or just basically doing nothing at all. However, I'm also not all that tech savvy, and some help from someone who is would be very helpful.
As far as useful information goes, I have broadband (specifically cable) for a connection, which is used by two computers and the Xbox through a LinkSys router.
If you don't know how to get to your gateway, try opening a command prompt by click the Start button, choosing Run, and then typing in "cmd". From there you can type "ipconfig" to get your default gateway address. Using that as a URL in your browser (ex.: 192.168.1.1) will get you to your router's web administration, with a default username/password varying based on your router (I think for Linksys it's admin/admin).

Also: what is the specific model of your Linksys router? Any idea of what firmware revision you have for it?
You usually see it in the corner of the gateway page like so: http://www.coderetard.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/linksys_firmware.jpg
