Well the basic rule was he was doing everything in the current timeline, and his replacement is pretty painfully noticeable when they can't keep him to it.
Parker is pretty bad-ass and hopefully he can manage a monthly.
Looking at the interior art from #17 that's on CBR, I'm kinda disappointed that they're going back to the old costume.
I like the one from the first arc, it felt more like a superhero suit and less like he just came from church in K'un-L'un

Yeah. How dare he wear the old costume in one of six preview images. Especially considering half of those previews are models for Danny in a modified version of his IIF costume.
Not as much of a disparity as I thought, but maybe the thinking is there isn't much overlap between the people buying IIF and the people buying UNCANNY? I don't know.
They're probably waiting so that they can put the whole Seven Cities arc, with the annual and Orson one-shot, the history issue, and the birthday issue that comes out in June.
And I know I keep saying "Bad shit happens when Danny turns 33" and people keep going "Nuh-uh nuh-uh"
But fuck all of you, read the preview for the June issue
Fraction actually said it'll be Seven Cities and the two one-shots back in January or so, so it'll be 9 1/2 issues long. I mentioned that in this thread already. I think twice, actually.

Last issue of that storyline hits on April 30th, so I'd expect the second trade in....June, maybe? It should be a huge book.
Many thanks kind sir!
So can't wait for that, sad that it won't have the orson one shot but it's not like it won't be worth picking up on it's own regardless. The more orson I see the more orson I want... in a strictly hetero (I think) sexual way.
Could a successful one shot lead to more? *Dun dun dun!*
y'know, unless all the art freaking blows or something, i'd almost rather have this than have the book be super delayed.
in general, i mean
in this particular issue, not so much
Man, I'm the opposite. As long as it comes out eventually I'd prefer it be super delayed and awesome. If I'm paying money for the damn thing I want it to be a work of art, not some hastily scribbled doodle on the back of a napkin.
Something like Ultimate Wolverine vs. Hulk is obviously unacceptable, but I could accept a bi-monthly schedule like Astonishing if that's what it took Aja to be able to draw the book. I suppose for the sake of the story you want the comic to be coming out fairly frequently and regularly, but the art is pulling you in the other direction--pressing for more delays and more time per issue. So it's definitely a balance, but to me a bimonthly schedule is totally acceptable for an elite level book like this used to be.
Hell, look at how long it took Planetary to come out; but when it's done, it'll be totally worth it, whereas in the end if it was rushed, I wouldn't want to spend my money on it, or not nearly as much as I will now.
Saying that my anticipation for this issue has waned because of this is an understatement. It's the last issue of the entire fucking arc, and the main artist can't even draw a SINGLE page? Get out of my face with that shit, Marvel. I completely agree with valiance: delay it three months, I don't care, as long as Aja is drawing it. I can wait for the Ultimates, I can wait for Planetary; I sure as hell can wait Iron Fist. It deserves a proper send-off, and not only for this arc, but for the entire creative team as well.
Aja hasn't drawn much of this arc, so I am not too nerd ragey about him not drawing this issue. We have a few more issues of Fraction and Brubaker, so maybe he can draw one of those.

I don't like the old suit, I want him to keep the current one.
I wasn't really nerd-raging about it, just making an observation.

The hell is wrong with you?
This says 8-14 + the annual. Which (apparently) means no Orson one shot http://www.marvel.com/catalog/?id=8755
In other news 14 can't come out fast enough. It's my most anticipated book of the month and it has to come at the very end....
And there is nothing bad about that
Many thanks kind sir!

Perhaps they'll be collecting it with IIF #7 and 15 and some other tales of earlier Iron Fists into its own trade.
That would be simply lovely. I'd love to see a series based on the old Iron Fists of yore, far east kung fu hijinks ftw.
Where are you, David Aja?
in general, i mean
in this particular issue, not so much
I have no desire to purchase this one in trade from.
Consider my buzz officially killed. I am now anticipating the removal of Aja from this creative team more than I am the end of this arc. Jesus.
Wait, did Aja do pgs 4-23? That still seems possible, right? right?
Yeah. How is this possible? I am super crushed guys. Like you have no idea. Super crushed.
