What would YOU spend $2500 US on?

If this should be in another forum, please move it for me. I thought maybe SE++, heh.

So I recently paid off my credit cards and got limit increases as a reward. Now, I'm not even thinking of putting more than some monthly utilities on it or something. But I did have a pleasant time thinking about things I could buy. My ideas are mostly boring, though, like upgrading my computer six months early, or buying a big TV. Everyone's played the game "Well, if I had a million dollars, what would I do with it?", but I'm curious to see some answers for a smaller amount.

So, fellow forumers, what would you splurge $2500 on, if you were an irresponsible consumer?

EDIT: this is not about what you'd buy to max out your credit card, folks. I'm just asking what you'd WANT to buy, not something you NEED, if you had that kind of money available. As in, if you had a gift certificate to any store or combination of stores in the world, given to you by a masked man on the street or something.

A new mattress, or paying down my 401K loan, or paying back my grandparents for the down payment on my condo.
    Growing up is fun.

I would not use my credit card to spend $2500. If I wanted to spend that much on something I didn't need I'd go get a proper loan.

If I had $2500 real dollars? I'd save it for rent/tuition. If I got a $2500 limit increase on my credit card? I'd...do nothing because that's not actual money.

Neither would I. In fact, that's not what I was asking at all; paying off my credit card was just what got my mind rolling. I will most likely be using my newfound debt-freedom to save up (cash) money for a car.

My question was, if you had $2500 to spend on something you WANT, not NEED, what would you spend it on?

If I had $2500 of actual money it'd probably go toward the down-payment on a house, which is where all my real money is going right now.

EDIT: Oh, if I could spend it all on toys? I'd probably rebuild my living room with a new hi-def TV and a surround-sound system of some kind.

Assuming the ability to forget responsibilities, I'd buy everything those mannequins at the high end clothing store are wearing. Then I'd visit a spa and get an expensive haircut.

I asked for a bigger credit limit not too long ago because I felt like having a big emergency-money pool, and got it upped from 1500 to 5000. Then I bought an engagement ring.

Currently paying about $800/month on my student loans to knock them out. Probably will have that accomplished by April or so. Then I will have $800 in splurging money every month. Woo.
I'm probably just going to put that $800 in savings, along with this imaginary $2500.

I would probably drop it into some stocks. I have been meaning to do this but haven't had the surplus funds to do so. My income is good enough that I can already buy most of the junk I want, but I don't have a good chunk of change laying around at one time to invest with.

You could get basically a top-of-the-line computer for that much, or get one that's seriously as good as you'll need for a long time by just spending half of it.

I think I would take about 800$ to upgrade my wife's and my computers to dual core (change the cpu/mobo, and maybe cases/memory). The rest would be put to paying off the last 1300$ we owe on her car, with some left over for fooling around with.

    Credit card? Nothing.

    Real money. Rent + parties.

Maybe a few minor PC upgrades or something. Honestly i'd probably just blow it at bars over the course of a few months. Oh and a bit of wardrobe related stuff.

how much is that in terms of apple pies from McDonalds? but seriously... outside of rent/tuition/repay loans

I would probably plan a vacation outside of the united states. Even a large roadtrip U.S.A. would be fun. I just need time where I don't have to be responsible.

Or go splurge on nice clothes. Like, really really nice clothes. Custom tailored shit and such so I can finally get something that truly fits me. Seriously, fuck, I am so tired of only affording jeans and a t-shirt and wearing the same, old, warm coat for the past few years that doesn't even keep me warm. It would be nice to feel good about what I wear.

Considering you can get porn for free, I estimate that is roughly an infinite amount of porn. Forever.
