Really need a room mate

I need to find someone to help me with the cost of this house. Mortgage is about $1500 a month, it's a 3 bedroom mobile home. Looking for any advice. Are there other places besides craigslist to look for potential roomies? How should I price it?

those fliers with the tear tabs that you see at grocery stores are useful as well. also spread the news around work or among friends, word of mouth is very effective but slow.

as for pricing if you give them 1 bedroom then charge 500 bucks + utilities (if you are going to have 2 roomates). if you want to share with just one person then 750 + utilities, however! make sure you are competetive with your area. and get a rental agreement with anyone you bring in.

Peter - find a lawyer to draft a leasing agreement.

I would say 600-700 plus utilities.

Also ask friends/family and have them tell their friends/family that you need a roommate.

Where the fuck do you live where a three bedroom trailer costs you $1,500 a month?

You might also consider a rent that includes utilities, instead of rent plus a share of utilities. A friend of mine has had problem with roommates driving up the cost of utilities significantly and then refusing to pay their share. Since they're in his name, he's still responsible for paying them.

Seattle. It's also on a significant piece of land, 1/4 or 1/8 acre, I think.

Where can I go to get a model lease?

The city should have one; most cities have a draft of standard legal documents for residents. Covers the basic legal rights of both parties, usually.

This is one great thing about living out in the country.

As far as rent goes, the best thing to do is check out what places in your area charge, and depending how bad you want a roomate undercut a little, but just enough to not seem desperate.

Unless your mobile home is really, really nice/modern/updated/in a terrific, safe location, you are going to be hard pressed to get more than $500.

Even in Seattle, that's a super high mortgage for a trailer.
