DVD getting stopped by post? Australia

I'm sending a DVD to my friend interstate, which is rated R. He isn't 18, but his parents say it's okay.

This is a silly question, but does the postage system scan dvds being sent interstate? Do any get stopped, or can't they tell what DVD it is?

Is there ANY chance of it being stopped and opened?

    Mail it to his parents

But, ask at the post office

Take note though, the Australian Post system isn't there to post, but to give you a taste of just how bad things could really be.

First time I have ever felt well and truly fucked over by my own country

R rated DVD's are not banned in any state in Australia. It's distribution of X rated material that'll get you in trouble.
