Well, I lurk daily, but never post, for reasons you will see below.
Okay, so I really need some advice with drawing this car, I probally wont change the lines much, because anything more curvy will be very hard for me to make within an acceptable timeframe.
Can I have some crits on the shapes mainly, is the nose to stubby, the back to exagarated?
Oh, and if anyone cares, I am intending to build this for my midengine roadster, so I do have to keep somewhat realistic in my sketches.
Most recent design:
Old Lameness Concepts
*SHAME*
So yeah, any crits on design in general, what cars look like they could actully drive around?
Also, if anyone here has a thing for drawing cars, I would LOVE help for design on the one I'm going to build.
Thanks AC

For names I'm thinking along the lines of Echelon
It sounds like Echo. If I may suggest, try a name that doesn't have a rough stop (Echelon) right in the middle. Also Echelon doesn't really convey anything about the car.
If you look at a Maxima, you know that car is the max! If you have a Swift, that car's gotta be fast! An Aerio, it's gonna take off flying. A Sequoia is huuuuuuuge! All these names can be associated with something every consumer knows... but seriously... What's a Echelon?
EDIT:
I do like the Super Car tag. It makes it seem than it's more than a car. This is basically what BMW does, they don't sell cars, they sell driving machines.
To me this car would need a name that would be associated with speed or sexiness, as that what people want to feel or be feeling when they drive, stand by, or even look at this car.
Design-wise, I think they're pretty damn pimp. I mean, I'd drive them.
Art-wise, the red one (at least I think it's red) looks horrific and the tacked on rims point that out further. The last one looks okay since there's a bit more detail on it and there's no tacked on rims. I think the angle of the shot helps too.
I'd suggest that if you continue to do modeling of this ilk, you invest in some legitimate modeling software.
Maybe lines that extend from front to end so it's smoother? That's probably more of a personal preference though.
They definitely look cool, if that's what you're going for. Careful about mucking around too much with the door cuts, it looks like it won't open straight out.
Very fun though. I'd love to see how this progresses as well as the actual molding of parts. ^^
Yeah 3d wise, I'm going to have some of my friends model one of them once I get more zoned in on a design I like. The ones after the grey car are only like 1 hour sktches, so they are BAD in terms of perspective and finish.
Ever heard of that mod Rogue Threat for HL2? That was my game so I'm going to have some modeler friends make me a few diffrent 3ds. Once I have a model I can muck with, I will saw it up into segments, print them out real big and mold them out of foam.
As far as the side skirts note, yeah thats my weakness, I need to get out of the ricer mindset and actually follow curves that would be more like a Mercilago or something. I'm glad someone pointed out I'm really influenced by Saleen.
For the doors, they will naturally be sissor doors so they all have to be at an angle where they can pop right up.
"Maybe lines that extend from front to end so it's smoother? That's probably more of a personal preference though. "
I'm not sure what you meant by that, you mean make the front end lines match the lines from the side of the car?
Thanks for the help so far folks

Echelon = a level of command, authority or rank.
example: The four star general is in the upper echelon of the U.S. Army.
It's pronounced esh-uh-lawn so I don't really see what you mean by the word having an abrasive stop in the middle, unless you were reading it as etch-uh-lawn

Dear satan I wish for this or maybe some of this....oh and I'm a medium or a large.
Sorry but the designs so far lack any spirit. Do something different with it. Something original. I love the idea of making your own car design and it seems like a waste to make a generic sports model clone. Maybe it's just me.
