What I would like to do is watch "instant" Netflix movies on my TV. I was looking into XOOM Media Center, as that lets you stream things from your PC to Wii. It looks like it only lets you stream pics, tunes, or movies that are of certain file types on the hard drive. That almost seems not worth the money as if I want to look at pics on my Wii I can just use the Wii Photo Channel. If I want to watch a movie or listen to music on my TV, I could just use my DVD player. Does anyone know if there is anything out there that would let me send streaming internet content to my Wii?

I don't know what netflix is, but if you want to watch something on the net, just use the opera browser?
For watching movies etc. I recommend using Orb, it lets you stream all sorts of media files to the wii, although stuff like subtitle management is nonexistent.
Nothing on the Wii supports Netflix instant movies yet. The closest thing is youtube or homebrew media players which play files off an SD card.

I've never been able to get Orb to work properly with my Wii (that is, streaming content over a LAN). That said, I wouldn't bother. Look into getting a slingbox or something.
Wii's Opera Browser isn't going to be supporting much until it's Flash implementation is updated.... which will never happen because that would cost monies and oh sweet Jesus that would just be horrible for Nintendo to spend what would to them be a pittance on.
Orb is probably the only thing that will work, but it can be a pain to setup correctly. Unfortunately there's no real way to get netflix instant movies to work correctly on your Wii that I'm aware of.

Now Nintendo does a lot of things wrong, but Flash support with the browser is not one of them. Adobe is at fault there.

No, fuck that.
Nintendo could pay Adobe to build the better version, as opposed to just waiting for them to get around to it.
The Wii is not a development platform; hell, it isn't even really much of a browsing platform. Adobe has no real obligation to update that software... but Nintendo could sweeten the pot, and in doing so get a more optimized version out of them, I am sure.

Actually syn, that's a good point. Nothing I can say to that.
Yeah, the PS3 has already updated to Flash 9. Supposedly Adobe has already released an SDK for Flash 10.
The last time I checked Adobe dumped the Flash SDK and the upgrade path is to Flash Lite 3. Flash Lite 3 only supports up to Flash 8, so I'm not entirely sure how the PS3 got Flash 9. My best guess is that it doesn't really support all of Flash 9. Adobe had this on it's FAQ page for FL3:
Flash Lite 3 broadcasts itself as a Flash 9 compatible player and will play back SWF content created with Flash 9 (Flash CS3 Professional) as long as it DOES NOT use ActionScript 3. Flash Lite 3 will display a Flash icon to indicate instances where content is not supported.

Plus, it's free.

I'm not sure if the Wii version will support netflix. I also read somewhere that the Wii version won't be as high quality.
Which is kind of funny.

Frankly I'm loving Hulu goodness through the PS3 browser. If the PS3 were to get Silverlight it would be complete.
