Online Poker Recommendations? (Plus hopefully arrange PA Tourney!!!)
Since TripleJack has a decent free service that is browser and flash based, I figured we could try to get a PA game going on one night. If you're interested, hit me up. Figured 6 players minimum.
Current players:
Sheep
Simon Moon
Kris_xK
Howdy.
Anyone have a recommendation for an online poker site? Specifically Texas Hold'em? I used to play a flash based one, but quit when I realized that the AI was pretty stupid.
I don't require much, other than it be PC and Mac compatible.
Honestly, if there's another decent flash based one that does NOT require a download, I'd be pleased as Punch.
The net is littered with really crappy, suspect websites.
And please do not recommend any cash based games as they are illegal in my present location.
I play on Triplejack sometimes. It's flash, but doesn't require a download. It's fun playing with a bunch of jackasses who find humor in constantly going all in preflop.

Sounds like some of the people I tend to put out every other Saturday.
Thanks!
EDIT
Gonna create an account, but just played three hands with that ended up with triple 6's post river.
The flash games are going to be pretty awful. I don't know if you're not able to download things or why it must be flash, but if you change your mind you're going to have 10x the experience if you get on fulltilt or pokerstars.
You can play play money everything and do tournaments that will have much better players.
Also regarding legality, I'd like to hear where you are and what info you've been given because it's such a gray area EVERYWHERE I don't think you can call it illegal to play. Hosting an online site is illegal, that's why they're all done off shore.
Think about it, do you think all of the top name pros would show up playing online? I can walk you to about half a dozen of these guys at any given time it's not like they're difficult to find or anybody doubts what they're doing.

I think the problems with legality actually involve cashing out. I haven't really looked into this in about 4 years, though, so I'd have to do some research before being willing to say anything definitive. At any rate, I'd be willing to bet that many of these "top name pros" are being remunerated via an entirely different process than the cashing out process of a typical player.
My mom plays everyday on PartyPoker.net. You can play games other than Texas Hold 'Em, too (like Omaha Hi/Lo).
Free site, not for real money of course. Although we've noticed that some people will accumulate money and then just bet as much as possible per round, since it's not real money.
My mom leaves those tables. She says it's like playing the lottery.
I play on PokerStars.com. From what I've seen of the others, this is the best one in terms of interface clarity and usability (and it doesn't look too bad, either.)
Yes, it requires a download.
No, you don't need any money (nor do you have to register a credit card) to play, as you can play with "play money". I haven't played with real money on there yet (I'm still practicing, honing my skillZ) but it seems safe enough.

They also use a month-long tournament sort of system, and you'll get little trophies or medals for being one of the top players for the month.
Pretty neat.

I'd be down for that.

Like you're Canadian money is good for anything other than Monopoly.

It's also the platform that Wil Wheaton prefers.
