So I've been on a bit of a punk binge as of late. Been listening to a lot of Black Flag, Bad Brains, Minor Threat, SS Decontrol, and Poison Idea.
I'm really starting to appreciate the impact that punk/hardcore had on the modern music scene, specifically the music that I listen to most of the time.
And listening to a lot of more modern Hardcore it's really cool to see how the music evolved. I'm actually going to a hardcore show tonight and seeing Have Heart, Blacklisted, and Ceremony. I'm pretty excited because Have Heart is on of my all time favorite bands.
My friend told me a story where some people went to see them and it was just the dude doing an acoustic set, and when he was asked "Hey, where is the band!? I paid to see all of you!" he replied "What did you expect! We're Gypsies!"
I saw NOFX a week ago with Dillinger Four, the Flatliners, and Teenage Bottlerocket. I fractured my ribs in the pit and still think it was an awesome night.
I listened to their entire discography this week. Even the weird second album
Oh you didn't know about that? Yeah, their second album wasn't Suffer. It was called Into The Unknown and was keyboard-driven prog rock. Jesus fuck it's bizarre.
I think my favorites are Generator, Stranger Than Fiction, and Against The Grain.

I knew that. It was shit though.
Yeah but you went to see NOFX so what's your point?
I wouldn't go see NOFX if they were playing with the Queers, Screeching Weasel with the really good line-up, the one with Vapid and Panic, Teenage Bottlerocket, and the fucking Ergs!, and I got a blowjob for sitting through their set.
Fat Mike instills in me a sort of rage because not only is his band bad, he seems to think he's an expert.
No Michael. The Lillingtons' Death by Television is not the best pop-punk album of all time.
I did my NOFX rant, I'm done.
Anyway
I see a disturbing lack of Ramones and Clash. Gotta rectify that in two and a half minutes.
Also going to get some Teenage Bottlerocket and Steinways and Ergs! allupins
On an unrelated note, I'm watching the Bad Religion DVD that was shot at the Palladium. It's kinda weird to watch. It's like watching your dad in a punk band.
The Ergs! - Very Pretty Song...(acoustic)
This is kinda cool. Basically, they were playing the Insubordination Fest, and there was a power outage. So instead of just not playing, they went in the parking lot and did an acoustic set

You're either an idiot and don't know what prog rock is, or you're repeating something you read somewhere else. Based on the sum of your posts in this thread, I really can't decide which it is.
More the second than the first but the fact remains that it was all keyboards and no punk and it was fucking shit.
Also, Dropkick Murphys got better after McColgan quit to join the fire department, his voice is painful.
Also shut the hell up FAQ I don't have any Ramones or Clash in my favorites on YouTube.
Well, a couple songs from the last Ramones concert but the last concert wasn't that great. I guess I could post this though R.A.M.O.N.E.S. with Lemmy

My theory is that there is a secret connection between Texas and Ireland. Hear me out.
When it comes to the USA, Texas is the one state populated by people who never shut up about how fucking great Texas is. Their entire lives revolve around how fucking fantastic Texas supposedly is. Every action they take is governed by secret Texas code, which results in them getting tattoos that say LONE STAR STATE right above their tribal armband.
How does Ireland tie into this? Well duh, Irish people are exactly like Texans! They never shut up about how fucking excellent Ireland is. They get tattoos of clovers with the colors of their flag, they never shut up about Notre Dame, they never shut the fuck up about St. Patrick's Day.
Basically I hate people who can't shut up about Texas or Ireland.

there's a reason for the "three chords of punk" which anyone can learn and proceed to make music
case in point: The Misfits
Danzig has a good voice but they are hardly a skilled band
i love the song 'pay to cum' but hate the band because they're huge homophobes
kind of how i avoid listening to wagner or reading poetry by ezra pound

That is to say, awful.

Teenage BottleRocket - Bloodbath at Burger King
Sound isn't wonderful, but it's decent.
Teenage BottleRocket - In The Basement
The Steinways - Dear Girl
The Steinways - Here She Comes (MTX cover)
These two were filmed in Vapid and Jughead's basement. Mikey Erg is in the crowd, as is the chick from the Unlovables.
Mr T Experience - And I Will Be With You
The Queers - Fuck The World
Fake edit Oh what the fuck bitch you best not be talking shit about the Ramones or I will cut you up
what are you some kind of liar, some kind of guy who just lies
