I want to get Fallout 3, and though I'm prepared to pay $80.00 Australian for it, I was shown a website called CD WOW! Australia, the Australian branch of an international retailer unsurprisingly called CD WOW!. They've got Fallout 3 for about $50.00 Australian with free delivery. I'm understandably excited about this very low price, but I've got a sneaking suspicion it may not necessarily be a legitimate copy. Is my suspicion correct, or does someone have experience with CD WOW! Australia to show me otherwise?
Hey, over at www.whirlpool.net.au (australian broadband/technology forum) which I'm a member of, I always hear of people using it. Maybe go there, do a search for CD WOW!. I'm 99% it's okay. Lots of people their use it.
but yeah, do a search first as I'm not entirely sure.
CD WOW! is safe to use. They send out copies of their games from Hong Kong, where the products are cheaper. The copies they sell are legitimate, but the companies aren't happy that they do, as it reduces actual reportable sales in the region where consumers buy.
Everything you import is subject to your country's customs and excise laws, but at least in the UK, anything under 12 GBP is not subject, and there are far too many parcels for customs to inspect every small one.
Result: Most stuff like CDs and DVDs that are under 60 quid or so won't have a taxation bill, even though you should technically send it.

If that's true, then who knows if it'll be usable. Some games do region-locking.
