Sorry for the necro-post, but this thread got me looking at deals and I remember there were a few people looking at the Circuit City 360 deal that might appreciate a heads up. FYE is running a deal between now and black friday where they offer a $100 mail in rebate on their 360s and they still have the 20 gig pros in stock. So if you're worried about buying on a budget like I am you can get this and basically give up the free extra control and the games that came with the arcade and saving $50. This also applies to the Elite and the 60 Gig Pro, though my store would only offer a $50 mail in rebate on the 60 Gig so YMMV.

And cheapassgamer has been collecting game deals, with a couple new interesting ones to look at.

Not all FYEs sell new games anymore, though. Both of the ones nearest me closed them out last year, and now only sell used games, and no hardware.

Just a heads-up. You might want to give them a call first before you go heading out there on Friday.

Yeah, should have mentioned this, I had the same problem with the store I was going to go to so I ended up having to go a bit farther to another one.

I notice they do still sell new games and hardware on their website, so if isn't brick & mortar only, it could still be a good deal.

I think it's only in store, but if someone was interested it can't hurt to check the website and see if they can find anything about the deal.

Yeah. Failry underwhelming. I will say KMart has a few interesting sales as I'm just moving into a new apartment, but if I wasn't starting fresh I'd be looking forward to nothing but a couple new DVDs. The thought of going to the KMart by me is sort of scary, however.

I'd rather hit myself in the genitals with rusty nails than wait in line at Best Buy on Black Friday. Whatever genius decided a 100,000+ square foot store only needs 4-6 registers should be publicly beheaded.

What really disappoints me is that there aren't really any great new game sales. Last year, Bioshock & The Orange Box were two of the biggest games out there and they both have 50% off sales on Black Friday. This year, the only new game I'm seeing with a cool sale is Dead Space which I'm happy to pick up for $30 (hey, if I dislike it, I can get more than its worth reselling it on goozex!), but I was hoping for sales on some of the bigger titles like Left 4 Dead & Gears 2.

Where'd you find the Dead Space sale?

NM, found it: Target. They actually have some of the best game sales I've seen for Black Friday.

And if that's the model I think it is, that's a fantastic set and a great price - probably $200 or $300 off the best I've seen it. I have the 1080p version of it.

Philips' online outlet is having a huge sale

I got a 42" 1080p, 2ms response time, and 29000:1 (or something peculiar like that) tv for 800 + tax.

    edit: refurbished, but still.

From the looks of things, it's going to be $200 for a PS3, Little Big Planet, and the Blu-Ray version of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. However, you have to sign up for the deal, then you have to get lucky enough to be picked, and finally you have to be lucky enough to actually purchase the deal before it's sold out. It's more like winning the lottery than anything else.

So since my buddy's wife left him and took his xbox and sold it, I want to get him another one to replace it. I guess I should wait till friday, but I have to work that day and I don't get off till 5pm. wonder if all the stores in my town (kmart, target, best buy) will be sold out by then.

Its very likely there won't be anything left at all by then. If you get there late as in 10am your likely to miss out on anything fantastic.

I'm going to disagree with this, as I've had my 50" 720p for about 17 months and not had any issues with it. I am fairy easy to please though. I would agree that this is the breaking point of fuzzyness, and I would not buy even a 52" 720p without getting a heck of a deal.

Not at all. As with everything, there are far more factors to consider before you can make a simple judgment like that - distance to the TV, quality of video source, etc. I ran my PS3 and 360 at 720p on a 57" tv and it never looked fuzzy. I now run them on the 1080p version of this TV, albeit in 720p, and they still look amazing.

If this TV is within your budget and you can get in line for it, don't pass up on this deal.

There might be some soccer-mom carnage at Sam's Club on Black Friday after all.

They'll be offering Wii Fit for $78.84. Both online or in-store. (You'll have to do some scrolling to find it.) It's not much of a savings but I'm sure it will still draw some shoppers.

The catch is that you already need to be a member of Sam's Club before Black Friday to get the sale price.

I'm not sure if anyone here would be interested in this at all (I have to admit that I'm not interested) but I thought I'd pass it along anyway, just in case.

EDIT: They also advertise $11 Blu-Rays, but don't mention any specific titles. They also have some HDTVs on sale ($798 for a Philips 42-inch widescreen LCD that supports 1080p), but I have no idea if the prices on those are any good.
