The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Many of us on Justin.tv are doing a fund raiser for Child's Play charity this weekend, and while I've reached out to some blogs and sites, I'm a bit at odds on how to further promote the event (although I suppose technically I'm doing that right now).
The site, multiplayermarathon.com has already been submitted to digg.com and I will be doing one of those free press releases tomorrow morning... but anyone else have any good ideas or advice? We'd really like to make this successful.
If you could get Casey Casum to host that'd.. you know, be killer.
Did you hire any sort of PR firm? Purchase advertising? I'd imagine that just submitting the site to digg and posting on forums is probably not the best way to get the word out about your fundraiser.
It's basically all taking place on the internet, a live broadcast of video game streams where people can join. While a PR firm sounds fantastic, this is a not for profit gig by people who just want see if they can help, and any money I currently have is going directly to the charity. I wonder if there are non-profit PR firms... although that sounds a bit silly.
I believe Kristin who manages the charity said she may put up the event on their calendar, so that'll be cool. I also reached out to engadget and the gamer score blog guys.
