Bought a mactop, suggest free software for me!

Hey, I've had a macbook for about 2 months, it has Leopard, 2 gigs of ram, and a 2.4Ghz processor. It's a blast to use, but so far I've just been using all the stuff that came with it, and I imagine there's some fun and useful free apps out there for aesthetics, functionality, whatever.

So in this thread you can suggest software to download and maybe a description of what it does, and I'll check it out. Thanks!

If you're a student, I can't recommend Schoolhouse enough. It's great to keep organized notes.

-smcFanControl if you do any gaming and need to keep your mac cool.

-Scrivener if you're a writer. (Trial is free, full product is not.)

    -Adium for Instant messaging.

    -HandBrake for DVD ripping.

-VLC Media Player for media playing. (Quicktime is good, this is better.)

-StuffIt for compression/decompression (I think this is free--at least, the decompression part is.)
