What is it?
The new game by Valve, makes of Half-Life 1 and 2, Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. That alone should be reason enough for you to play it.
What's it about?
Killing zombies. Durrr.
More specifically: killing zombies with 3 of your friends and/or perfect strangers (there's also a single player mode for all you jaded misanthropes out there, so fear not) while making your way across several maps to an extraction point. You can also play as boss Infected and kill humans, too.
Where can I get it?
Steam, or some shitty brick and mortar store. Your choice.
Though I'd recommend pre-ordering it on Steam: tomorrow makes the beginning of the early access demo, available only to those who pre-order it (and at a $5 discount from the normal price [beat that, Gamestop]).
Why should I care?
Because it has zombies, and firefights, and a black guy.

Yes they do, but given the cooperative nature of the game (and because I
you guys) I wanted to start a thread to connect with all of you. This game is orders of magnitudes more fun to play when you're fighting along side your friends, and I intend to do just that.So what do you say, my fellow sinners? Up for killing some zombies with me?
