Beat It - Remix : Question

I just listened to the Beat It remix version (i think it sucks). Did MJ actually record his lines again, or did they just re-use the audio from the original track? Just wondering because he sounds exactly the same 20+ years later. A very important question, i know :)

    Probably left the vocal track alone and rearranged the beats. Where'd you hear this remix at?

    I assume he's talking about Beat It 2008 from the latest album. Fergie's contributions were obviously new, but Michael Jackson's vocals are from the original masters.
