I finally picked up some hdmi cables to hook up my 360 to my new av receiver and tv, and the picture is glorious and the sound for the most part is excellent, but occasionally things sound muffled or very far away. Any ideas as to why, is there a setting somewhere I'm missing? I first noticed it when I played a DVD with my xbox (Seinfeld) and the audience laughter was loud but the actual dialog of the show sounds muffled and far off. Now I'm in Fallout 3 and the sound is better but sometimes I walk up to someone and can hardly hear them.
All I can suggest if it's going into a reciever is play with the equalizers. Games and movies tend to put the dialog into the front and a lot into the center speaker and depending on your preset or whatever it could be really low.

Just fiddle with your settings.
