Gentlemen, Start Your Barber Poles! [haircut advice]

Greetings, wise H/A forumers. Thanksgiving is fast approaching, which means going home for good food, family, and a long overdue haircut. The last time I got a cut was in August since I'm too busy and lazy at school. Now that the time is drawing near, I can't decide what I should do with my noggin, and I recall you folks being quite helpful for others in the past. I guess I'm thinking of something medium length and easy to maintain. My styling skill is noob at best and if it starts taking too much work, I'm likely to just leave it as is after a shower. Looking at least acceptable without styling would be nice too for those mornings where I'm pressed for time.

I'm not a big guy by any standard, ~5'9", 115-120lbs, so keep that in mind. Here are a few crappy quality Macbook photos of my current state of affhairs.

I've done long before (6" ponytail) and I've done it short (which I could never get to go right on my own). Also, I still kept facial hair.

Help me Help / Advice. You're my only hope!

I advise to only use clippers to trim sideburns and neck, do not use them to cut your hair. Just tell the lady at supercuts to use scissors only please! Take off an inch to an inch & 1/2 imo.

And go to supercuts, if you spend more than 15ish bucks on a haircut you will feel ripped off. They will do just as good of a job as a hair salon that will charge you 2-5x as much for the same damn thing.

The b/w pic sans moustache would be a good look for you IMHO. A more even upsweep would look more professional, but ymmv. It seems a good idea, considering the prominent angles of your facial features, to go shorter and slightly upswept, allowing your hair to naturally frame your face and bring out your eyes and cheekbones. You're a pretty good lookin' cat, alls-in-all, may as well go with it.

I think short on the sides, with some short choppy scissor work on the top (sort of like the b/w picture but without the flippy thing) would look pretty good.

Hmm, I think I understand what you're talking about. It kinda curled over, so you're saying a more even, vertical front? And should the rest of the top be sticking up a bit, or lay flat? Perhaps a similar style could be found in the galleries of HaircutsForMen?

You look exponentially better without a stashe. Keep that in mind. A goatee looks possible, but I'd shy away.

And this guy has a strange look on his face going on, but I think a variation of this shorter style would suit you well enough.

I didn't really see anything exact there, but there's a decent one just above this post. I think you've got the gist. You'll want the front look to be sticking up, the top textured but headed more to the front vs. sticking straightup, and the sides shorter but layered a bit. It'll soften the edges around the ears without hiding them.
