Mega Man 9 has been out for awhile, if you haven't gotten it - get it.
This is one hard-ass game.
Fucking old-school. Levels that border on impossible. No pussy-ass "tutorial" levels, just throw you in with the sharks and try to get out with your limbs.

Also, Galaxy man is the easiest to beat with just the Mega Buster.
I discovered this quite accidentally. They won't grab energy tanks, though.
Spark Ball is good for Tornado Man, but a pain to hit him with because it travels on the ground and walls, but he likes to hover in the air a bunch.

Yes, this game is very hard. Took me forever just to get past one stage. Then I got back into the old rhythm.

The staff on the project actually petitioned specifically to make a female boss character. Wiki says the bee boss was originally female as well.

Mega Man fighting the Hornet Man mini boss(who is evil incarnate, and comes back for the Wily Stage on spite)
and Mega Man fighting the dragon miniboss in Flame Man's level.
People have beaten I Wanna Be The Guy.
That makes those achivements possible.

The lava beams ain't no thang until you get to Wily's level.

Dragon was kinda tough, but not as annoying as that falling rock guy.
Oh and for the record, the Magma Bazooka is really useful against that asshole flower. Three charged shots at point blank range is enough to kill him.

I love this game so much.
But in Dr. Wily's stage, it took me many, many lives to get past them.
Spark Mans stage was pretty simple with just the M buster, just jumping around not falling into spikes or blackness. The boss isn't too tough either once you figure him out a bit.
