Let me start by saying I have been on the internet since I was 10 years old. I think its fair to say the internet has brought us a lot of good things over the years and a lot of bad things.
Now, the internet is one giant pool of information and thoughts collected in pictures, text, and thoughts typed out, contrived of and given life by other peoples impressions. Think of the internet as mind food for a second, much like reading a book for knowledge is. Now you can either feed on smart information, read other peoples feelings on daily life, or learn something completely new and different than what you're used to.
The internet is shaping your every day lives. Depending on what you read and see, be it junk thoughts or smart thoughts, video games or politics, game design or hype for something new. The internet is not only created for information for you to form your own opinion on but to shape how we think.
How we read something and when we read something affects our brain much more than what you see on the news, or what you saw on television last night. Solely because we are constantly reading about it and seeing it, it helps drive the point even further. The repetitive nature of the internet is its sure genius.
You are what you eat after all.

What about this?
I am so glad that thread is still around.
Edit: Also note that after 4 years Tube is still ice cold.
Watch it, buddy.

I see that.
I DISAGREE.
Well he's been reading things on the internet for six years in that case. Think of the amount of sheer absorbtion.
Or alternatively...
The alphabet... twenty-six letters, right? It could've been thirty letters. What if the 4 deleted letters were controlled by a program? Not impossible...in fact, something similar is already underway.
And the cool thing about PA is that we put people in their place. Makes us seem like dicks, but the sooner someone realizes their "unique and original thoughts" aren't, they're forced to either
A) Defend themselves and thus improve their arguments, opening the path to actual unique thoughts
Act like self-righteous geniuses and we're the idiots, making it known that they can be safely avoided
both of which are pretty good outcomes for the world-at-large, though I'd prefer the first.
...What if the Matrix is within all of us?
Is there a Santa Claus?
You know, it's a really bad misconception that we are somehow better than the rest of the internet, that we're all smart people and we make sure the unwashed masses stay away from our nerd paradise. But the truth is this place is full of retards, just like any other place, and the people "we put in their place(s)" are people we don't agree with.
People who don't agree with me are retards anyway.
People read things, they think about those things, those thoughts affect future thoughts. Oh wait...olol internet. Fucking brilliant.
UnbreakableVow? Now there's a (crackpot) theory. Good job.
It's not mine actually, but apparently critics loved it when it was put into a fictional work.
You could be describing Deus Ex, a little.
Maybe you have not been to the rest of the internet?
Or maybe PA has a secret fanfic section that I fortunately don't know about.
Are you sure? Because this wouldn't be the first time you've shown yourself to be monumentally stupid
Misconception. Check
Full of retards. Check
People we don't agree with. No
I mean, yeah, sometimes. See: full of retards. See also: Starcraft thread.
I don't think OP is a retard. I also don't disagree. I CAN'T disagree because I have absolutely no idea what the point of it is. It was something like "the internet has changed us", but there is absolutely no content or analysis as to how or why.
The result is contentless nonsense, which is coincidentally what a great deal of the internet is. The internet changes us indeed. Combine that with the allusion in the thread title and you've got a laugh.
Well, that was certainly called for.
Also fits right in with your theory about deeming people who disagree with you stupid/retarded/etc.
In response delzhand's post - I don't think were smarter then everyone else, just more cautious of what we post. We try to be careful of what we say, as one slip up can result in pretty much full blown from every member of the boards, including the mods.
Then when someone does start a retarded topic everyone see's it as a call to arms and blows that fucker away. I don't know...works for me
I
Marshmallow?
Well fuck, I got you mistaken for someone else who hangs around SE++ and spouts stupid shit all of the time. It's not that I just disagree with him; there really is something seriously wrong with that guy.
No, it was probably me, but I haven't stepped foot in SE++ in months (or whatever they call it now).
I do remember you seemed to be really pissed off at me because I hated Big Fish or something, though.
Yeah...this isn't a witch burning. It's "You really thought this was a well thought-out idea/"theory" that would garner good discussion? Really?".
And I still want to know what work of fiction that crazy idea is from.
Oh, so it was you!
Glad you decided to stay away from SE++. Now excuse me while I go back.
Metal Gear Solid 2.
Fucker is crazy.
Nothing in the OP is remotely interesting or conducive to discussion.
I mean, really.
This is a blatant misrepresentation of the facts. The Starcraft thread is full of love, understanding, and pandas.

It's about how the genius of the internet is its repetitiveness. Or something. Because no other media is repetitive, especially not TV. Oh lord no. And this repetitive information is changing us, it's making us think those thoughts it writes as we read them in our brain boxes. Oh yes.
I need to stop now...yes, the rift is overtaking me.
