Really, Really Fucking Late to the Party

Hey guys so I just watched Wall-E. Oh my God.

Oh

My

God

Holy shit you guys my heart almost exploded. I assure you I am entirely aware that the acceptable window for watching and then gushing about this has closed and I apologize profusely, but I love it so. much. I never knew that a film where ninety percent of the dialogue was robo-voicing "wall-e" and "eve" could bring me so close to tears, Goddamn, and I don't think I've ever laughed so hard at a character's death than when
that little evil robot fell out of a window and landed not two feet away from a diving board.
What are you just discovering now that you would be ostracized from society for revealing? In this thread we redefine "fashionably late."

I love that fight scene with the hammer so much.

My sister has a giant 3d cardboard display of mister Wall-e in all his robotic glory.

I am pretty jealous, but she'd probably give it to me if I asked for it. Damned if I know where I'd put it, though.

Has Will Smith ever played a genuinely unlikeable character? Because I have a really hard time picturing him in any role in such a movie.

    No

Because then it wouldn't be believable (no one can dislike Will Smith)

the Oldboy remake could be okay
but it won't be as dark
    I'll still watch it though

and instead the end will simply be smith killing everybody, and
then we find out he didnt fuck his daughter after all!
    hugs and rainbows for everybody!

I look forward to a presidential debate where the beginning of his rebuttal is a heartfelt "Aw, hell naw."

The Departed isn't as spectacular as people made it out to be but Mark Wahlberg makes it worthwhile.

It's also probably more interesting if you know who Whitey Bulger is.
