Yes or no? And why?

I'd say no, because overall, sitting in front of computer decreases productivity in real life, thus having a negative impact on the United States.

    They are useful social utilities. One could certainly lose productivity by spending too much time on them, but one could easily say the same thing about these very forums.

    edit: Also the OP reads almost as if we're writing a paper for you.
