I've been doing a comic strip for my student paper here in the UK but was wondering how you guys in the US would find it. Here are some samples, would love to hear your thoughts on the art and humour!

I like them a lot ^^ I would like to read these comics instead of the Haegar-stuff.

The style is varying a lot but seems to improve. At all it doesn't look bad, I like especially the mice, pig and truth ones.

Your artwork is awsome, your jokes are OK. Some of them I just don't understand, mabye because i'm an american, to make me understand it you would have to put the word penis in there some where. I really like the knight one, I like it when someone comes out with something that makes me say "Why didn't I think of that"...it also pisses me off at the same time. oh and does that teacher have lazy eye?

Edit: NVM, those are just the lens flare in his glasses.

The first one made me laugh, been in similar situations.

I've gotta give you credit, I almost didn't come to this thread because I expected another "Hur-Hur. I am teh funny maker". I must say that I was pleasntly surprised both by the artwork and the humor. While not all of them were funny, they all had good art. I like 3-7, but meditation is the best.

    Make your lineart darker please!

When your dark black comic title is 10 times as dark as the lines that make up the actual pictures within the comic, you have problems.

    Otherwise, pretty good stuff.

Wow. I really like these. Four through seven are awesome. The last one I understood, but it's not so much funny "haha" as it is funny "hmmm". Still, all around solid work. :o

Thanks everyone, I grew up with calvin & hobbes and enjoy pbf and buttercup festival as well as many other webcomics! I don't expect everyone to find them funny (I have a hard time telling myself..) but it's good to know some do.

Lly I wonder where you've seen them I've never posted here before but they are on other forums...

In reading them I don't think they're meant to be hilarious, just 'heh'-amusing, kinda like AgelessDrifter said. Which I think they are.

    Enjoyable strips. :)

Pay for ads on comic sites of similar taste.

That's probably the only sure-fire way seeing how if there was a free system out there, it would be quickly consumed by the "Two guys that play video games" cookie-cutter crap out there.

I, personally, find all my new comics from links in newsposts on various comic sites that I already visit.

They aren't laugh-out-loud, but they aren't not funny. Not only that, but I don't think they're all supposed to be funny, some of them are more contemplative...but those ones are somewhat cliche. I'd work on making more original ideas.

Really, really, really clever stuff. The art is still a little iffy for me, but that's mainly because I'm soooo used to "serious" (which sounds belittling, I know) art. Really, your cartoonish art fits the strip, because, as most people have caught on to, you're not trying to be hilarious, but rather make people think.

I think you have a sense of humor (or as you probably call it, humour) very similar to my own, which is why I find these so clever. I like to think that true humor comes from people being able to notice the small, ridiculous idiosyncrasies that people commit every day, almost constantly. And not in the Jerry Seinfeld method of pulling them out, but really seeing the stuff that makes you giggle.

The pig one is my favorite. I can't tell you how often I'm jealous of animals. They get to lie around all day and get fed three squares until they die young like rockstars.

Thanks, I have to agree with you, I'm frustrated by the limitations of my art. I stopped drawing a long time ago but started these comics for my student paper as a way of getting back into it but I'm jealous of what real artists can achieve in visual complexity and imagination :)
