    They did the original casting that you see in the commercials at comic con. If you wanted to participate they'd shave your head right there in the Carl style

    seriously, i bet when they were first casting the voice of carl, the directors were just like 'do dennis franz if he were a pathetic loser stuck in the 80s' and thats what they got

    Dennis Franz was crazy awesome in City of Angels. All running into the ocean buck ass naked.
    Also I didn't know he voiced Cpt. Klegghorn on The Mighty Ducks.
