Ramen Nutrition Facts

I'm looking for the nutrition facts of a block of ramen noodles, without the seasoning packet. Specifically, I'm wondering how much the calorie and fat count are affected by not using the seasoning packet, but I can't seem to find this information anywhere.

Any ideas? Any diet buffs here that just happen to know?

I can't imagine the seasoning would make any significant difference whatsoever in the calorie and fat counts. The seasoning is pretty much just salt, powdered chicken stock, and MSG. The calories and fat comes from the fact that ramen noodles are fried to within an inch of their lives.

What he said. The seasoning is undoubtedly packed with sodium, which also isn't good for you in large quantities, but you probably won't cut many calories or ANY fat out.

Yeah, they may just look like noodles... But those guys have been soaking in fat for probably months (exaggeration). The packet is all sodium, which should be avoided (considering it's probably about 150% your DV in that single packet).

Hm.. Kindof surprising, Ramen noodles seem like they'd be pretty harmless on their own.

You're better off buying a thin pasta in bulk than ramen if you're looking to eat something for cheap.

If you're trying to reduce the calories in ramen, you might try just throwing out the water after you boil it and maybe rinsing the noodles with some water too. I've noticed that after making the noodles there's a lot of oil in the water so if you throw that out it might reduce the amount you're eating.

The noodles are usually deep fried by the way...
