Somewhat related question, dont' mean to derail the thread.
I got a desktop I've been meaning to work on that's currently got 4 gigs of RAM, 2.6 Ghz processor and a 8600 GT video card, but it's running on Windows Home 32 Bit. I plan on maybe upgrading the video card fairly soon, but I was wondering any issues I should be aware of before I upgrade it to Windows Ultimate 64 bit?
I'll admit as far as OS software stuff goes I'm not as up to speed as I'm like to.
From what I've heard Ultimate is overkill for a home user. I would just get Vista home premium 64bit, it's what I have just upgraded to and the only issues I have is that I have been through multiple wireless network cards due to shitty drivers.
Oh be sure to know that you need to run a 32 bit browser if you want things that use flash to work, it had me confused for a bit.

big second from me.
also just make sure there's a 64 bit version for all your drivers before you make the upgrade

Unlike XP, the higher-tier editions of Vista didn't offer anything that I needed.
