Hey all, this is my first post and first colour edit. I'm expecting some serious criticism so go all out on what you think. Keep in mind I did this entire thing in Paint, and it took me a good 6 hours :P. Thanks, keep it real.
I can't tell if that is compression artifacts or... either way it is pretty underwhelming. Mostly, the colors are all flats, which isn't very appealing. But, welcome to the forum. To be honest, I think you wasted about 5 hours.
Well I dont know much about art, and dont really know what compression artifacts or flats are. Just think of me as a 6 year old boy who just learned to colour within the lines. Thanks either way, I appreciate it.

Okey dokey. Turn off the computer, pick up a pencil, draw some fruit, and come back in 12 years.
Did you just colour it, like in a colouring book Neutral ?
Hehehe, no I just did it in Microsoft Paint. Nothing done by hand only by mouse.
When I say think of me as a 6 year old, I mean I'm 19 and just started to find art interesting, but have done nothing artistic to date. So im fresh and new.

Honestly, it would look better if you had printed it, colored it with crayons and scanned it.
First thing to do is stop using MSPaint. Try GIMP if you really want to color digitally. But you would be better off learning art from the ground up so you have a solid foundation to work from.
Compression artifacts are caused by saving to certain formats. The program tries to reduce size using computer gobbldigok and you end up with splotches. Flats are your colors. There is no depth because you used on color to fill in the areas, like a paint by number. You need changes in color that would be caused by the shapes of the things you are coloring to give us the illusion of 3d. Without that it looks... flat. You also need a light source.
So, it looks great for a 6 year old. If that is the level you want to be coloring at, bravo. If you would like to improve, get some art books, take some art classes. If you can't do either of those things right now, draw from life for a while. Eventually you you be able to color from life as well.
First thing to do is not to try gimp but to get away from your computer altogether and pick up a pencil. Grab a book like "Drawing on the right side of the brain" and give it a run-through if you're serious about embarking on a lifelong adventure through art-dom.
Yep, draw something and please don't be disappointed if it doesn't turn out well. Look for your mistakes and start again.
It's not to late to start with 19. I know a female artist who started with 22 and is now independent with her own school, for example.
I think MagicToaster summed it all up quite nicely.
If you want to get serious at drawing, or just for something to do on the side, either way you should get your hands on some books and study them inside-out back-to-front. I think Drawing from the right side of the Brain was mentioned.
Im still impressed by what I did, its probably the best work I've ever done. I tried to keep the colours true to Boba's real colour and it took some time to get the right shades for certain colours. Thanks for the input, its exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to take this seriously and go pick up a sketch book and reading material on art. Any suggestions on necessary mats for pencil and colour sketchs?
Get yourself an good assortment of pencils like HB, B, B2, B4, B6, kneaded eraser to get into those tiny corners, sketchbook for travelling.
If possible start your day with a 30minute sketch of an random item. Most important: do not become to too fine but just finish in the given time.
Do not smear your pencil work, pros who want to finish fast do this, for beginners it's just cheating off experience.

Post work that is entirely yours. Is that a rule? So far, you've posted something that mostly isn't yours and another thing that isn't yours at all.
But I shall not.
At the very least, post your own art.
