Help buying a good cable modem

I'm looking to get a good cable modem from Newegg.com to replace the shitty modem that I have to fucking pay Comcast every month to use. So I need a good one that works with Comcast that I can buy from newegg.

I just wrote the same thing twice.

    I've had good luck with Linksys products.

    Since you didn't say anything about wireless;

    Seems some people have had issues with this modem and Comcast, are they just clueless or are there compatibility issues?

    I've always used Linksys, and right now I've got Comcast, and a modem/wi-fi access point with no problems. Couldn't say about that particular model, though.
