Like, I don't even know how to respond to my father about it. Because there's nothing rational there.
It's just like, I don't even know, everything Obama does he finds some reason to hate it.
I just overheard him saying that he picked the same military advisor as bush which apparently makes him a "fucking political bastard"? I don't even know what that meeeaaaaans.
Punch him.
After all if he isn't being rational why should you.
I'm so glad my parents are sane.
Man my mom is horribly insane and she still was for Obama.
My dad is very much sane and voted against him, but really only for his own financial/tax reasons (which admittedly is selfish but not exactly insane).
Voting purely for your own financial interests when the country is in such a horrible state is quite insane, as I see it.
Speaking of majors, I'm prety set right now on some sort of Biochem/Molecular Biology.
Thoughts from those with any experience in the field/major?
Like me, who is technically a biochemist/microbiologist/geneticist general PhD student of doom DOOM DOOM (that squirrel out there, where that tree is, NOTHING!!!).
Basically you can't go wrong with the current research environment in a genetics and molecular biology field. If you like molecular biology, biochemistry with a focus on protein engineering or crystylisation will take you very far. Pure genetics is not really very strong by itself IMO, you really need to put a genetics degree with something else like biochemistry or microbiology. Microbiology of all sorts can get you into anything and the molecular biology of microbes is an ever expanding area (with both industry and academic things). It's all up to what you're interested in, but job wise you could hardly go wrong with a biochemistry degree some form of molecular biology.
I would suggest though that you plan for at least a masters of a PhD. This adds a lot to your job opportunities and just a Bsc is ok, but there is a vast amount of competition and so having a masters or PhD not only opens more doors, it makes it easier to find a job.
For a while now I’ve had the idea that each year it’d be cool to review albums from 5, 10, … 50 years prior. Haven’t done it because I’m not much of a writer or a music critic or reviewer.

It's really not.
It's very selfish, but there is no definition of insane that it could possibly fall under.
It's selfish to the point of not caring of others are harmed as long as one's finances are secure. While not technically insane, it's a view that should have died back in the fucking '20s. Nothing against your father, but I hate people who vote just so their taxes won't be raised. I've always hated it, since the day I became aware of how taxation worked.

Sounds fun.
So, 2003, 1998, 1958?
Well, and stuff in-between. Maybe go back 60 years doing one review per month? I haven’t really thought it out.

Thanks! This was an awesome response and the kind of information I was looking for.
I think Nickel Creek’s ‘First and Last Waltz’ is my Current Song.
Thought that said nickelback for a min
Y’know the TV ad about the dudes who buy crappy seats and grab good ones? At the end they offer a prize of three tour dates with Nickelback. My thought is ‘that’s supposed to encourage viewers?’

Yeah, I'm aware of the difficulty of the field. But I've found when I'm actually interested in a subject it's not difficult for me.
I really have no idea.

Absolutely no contest

Cheaper, with a person I know and who is also very tidy, I get my own bathroom, and save a $1000. Very winny.

Anyway, kittens!

Only if you are listed as single.
When I broke up with my gf, I was barraged with adds saying "how to win her back!" and "looking to meet new girls!?"
I hate the Snorg Tee adverts I see on there. I don't give a hind (or whatever it is). The expression on that girls face just horrifies me.

Not usually, no.
Lately I haven't been listening to music on the computer, I just use the system in the living room or use my iPod through headphones or a dock.
I used to rate music, but I figure it's useless if I only listen to music I enjoy.
Hi5! I'm moving off-campus too. I just cancelled my housing contract today.

Maybe it’ll be my project for 2009.
I don't know what's worst, the ones where the girls look like teenagers or the Christian Singles ads that say "Is this your wife?"
The "Elite Singles" one was pretty bad, too.
They look like any other singles ads, to me. Right now I'm seeing "Meet Girls in Tennessee" and a "Meet Hot Christian Girls" under it.
WE'RE ON TO YOU!
all up ins
I don't like singles ads.
They creep me out.
Is facebook trying to tell me I'm undatable
It’s also a great aid to my lousy memory, and helps me pick stuff I want to play.
Thanks! This was an awesome response and the kind of information I was looking for.
Why, are you an Aussie?
Finding someone I wanted to room with was the hardest part.
You also get them if you have no relationship status listed.
Which is annoying, because that's half the reason I took it off.

only single women in nz are sheep
Then I'll just get the Mormon ads.
Ah, my roommate and I have wanted to move out since last semester, we just couldn't find a place until now.

I keep stuff I don't enjoy, just not in my library :P
I probably should rate music, not on a scale of really bad to really good, but on a scale of like to really really like.
