I have had this happen at work a couple of times now, and in doing a little research on wikipedia, this sounds about right but..
When under pressure for a deadline, or some task that somebody needs me to do, or when people just are a little overly blunt (not even in a mean way), lately, I get really really shaky, as well as a bunch of other symptoms of panic attacks. The only problem with this is the symptoms last for a long time afterwards. Hours, even. Most of the symptoms go away after maybe an hour, but I keep trembling for a while, and have a hard time thinking straight.
What I'm wanting to ask in the forum though, is, if anybody else has had panic attacks before, and if so, were your experiences with them similar to mine? Thanks,
I haven't had them, but I know someone who does. Theirs are similar. I would recommend looking up a psychologist, or asking your general practitioner to refer you to one. Panic attacks are generally controllable, and there's no reason to wait on finding a good plan of treatment.
I started taking bupropion three weeks ago this Saturday, for depression, as well as seeing a therapist weekly. This Friday I'm supposed to go get a normal check up to make sure my insides are okay, because I did some bad stuff to myself last month. I know that panic attacks can be a side effect of taking bupropion, and I am planning on talking to my doctor about it Friday. I just wasn't sure if the lasting trembling and/or shakiness was a fairly common thing for panic attacks or not.
I've had them, and yeah, the symptoms can linger. Get thee to a psychiatrist to see if you need medication AND a therapist to learn some self-calming techniques.

Yup.
Mine can be sudden bursts of problems that do not last very long, to small attacks throughout the day, to one big one that ruins the entire day for me and makes me want to just go home and go to bed. Worst case scenario is a mind fuck that just keeps me wrecked off an on for an entire week.
Doc put me on Xanax, which I do not abuse, and they tend to do the trick. I go days without eating one. Sometimes half of one before bed and I can feel the effects into the next day. Whether or not I can feel it coming on (feeling of losing control), or it hits me suddenly, usually one pill's effects don't take long to calm me down.
Down side is if I haven't gotten much sleep, or it's just a sleepy day, I'm out like a light.
things that help me...
yoga
reading
singing badly to music
beta blockers (only as needed, small mellow things... usually take one or two when I feel a panic attack coming on, to prevent it/keep it from getting worse)
and if it's shortly before bed, herbal sleeping pills with valerian (this, like the beta blocker, you should check with your physician regarding interactions with the bupriopion you said you were taking)
I am also on paxil because eventually they got bad enough taht all the above didn't help much, but that was this year and I've had panic attacks intermittently for oh, 10 years now
