Burning DVDs?

I'm looking to burn some DVD data discs - they will be filled with pictures from an earlier project. I have a DVD burner that burns +R and -R discs. I'm trying to figure out what software to use. It doesn't look like I can just drag the files to the drive in windows (although you can do this with CDRs, right?) What software should I use? Or is it possible to use windows, but I need a new driver or something?

I've always just dragged the stuff I want to burn to the RW drive, then right-clicked on it, and selected "burn to disc."

Then again, this has been with CDs, and not DVDs.

Nero works well and has a free trial version you can use.

I have a version of nero (that either came with the drive or with the motherboard. It seemed intent on just hanging about 20% of the way through the burn...

Odd, I've never had an issue with it.

Try the latest version? Perhaps the one you have is geared for CDs? Who knows.
