And ships don't sail with you, they stay in the port, you can transfer them to your location for 10k though. I've got a trading vessel that I use for the merchant guild quests.
Dig dig dig, all day long, dig dig dig while I sing that song...
Getting close to 18 mining. God this is dull.
Kinda my thoughts, but it's automated enough that you can just surf for the entire time, checking every little bit to chug an SP potion.
When the SP runs out I run to the priest and smelt my ores, stash the stuff in my ship and go back to digging.
I just started hitting Impure Copper Ore, which during double-xp time yields up 2800 xp or so
EDIT: If I have more than one ship, how can I store different stuff in each ship? It seems the only way to access the hold of a ship is by making it active at the Docker, which also automagically moves everything from your old ship to your new one.
In Alexandria I ran most of the way to the pyramids in the suburb, and encountered a Tomb Raider Musketeer. Luckily I had health potions on me and eventually I managed to kill him. 10 minutes of fighting yielded ... 238 silver. Damn. Now for the 10 minute run back to town.
Rerolling. Busted most of the starting money on provisions to explore western Europe, and after losing 20 sailors due to disease while trying to find a Booby (:winky:) I have... 500 silver pieces.
Oh well. Maybe this time I'll focus on getting some skills and a decent income before voyaging to the four corners of the Earth.
I am in the Pirates of the Burning Sea closed beta and I can conclude that
1) This game looks EXACTLY like PotBS. Like, exactly the same. The character models, the lighting, in some cases, even the ship designs. When I opened the thread, I swore it was the same game. Even the UI is similar.
2) PotBS is *derrogatory remarks not permitted under the NDA*
3) Conclusion, this game is probably much more worthy if your time, especially if its free.
Christ, yet again I've nearly bankrupted myself exploring for this stupid fucking bird. Fuck the adventurer's alliance.
I've only taken one adventurer's guild mission, and still haven't finished it. I'm supposed to go explore at this one spot of ocean for something. I've gone out at least 3 times, found nothing but some provisions, and sent at least...150 sailors to an early grave.
Posts
edit: i realized I never put myself on this list:
Does anybody know how to use the map pieces? I've got like...4 different groups of map pieces.
Also, what's the advantage of having multiple ships? Do they all go with you, or do they stay in port? I can't really tell from the interface.
You need 6, 12, or 18 map pieces to make a map.

Now, to make the trek back from Amsterdam to Athens. This'll take a while.

And I really should head to europe now. The Med is kinda boring.
I can sail back if you want, and we can start our trek again. That last one was great, I got up to 4000 rep thanks to it, and am now a Knight

TO AFRICA AND BEYOND!
Also, uh, you know, I'll just sail back get another ship, that waY I can get a scope. ;3
Asia and stuff I heard doesn't have much going for them, not many towns sadly too.
Edit: hah. I love this game sometimes. Apparently, if you want to lure raider ships into an attack, just carry at least one trading item.
Edit no.2: Honestly, we should just start our own knowledgebase about this.
The additional 25 load is great for me, since I usually carry quite a bit of junk on me at all times.

I just got attacked by Barbosa II's Golden Eye Raider.
He rammed my ship for a good 1k damage,
And then he boarded me.
like "GIANT_ENEMY_CRAB"
It's both a sea term, and fits the penny arcade phallical-refrence business.

The guild hall is JAWESOME!
Bleh, I managed to miss everyone as well.
Maybe the merchant alliance will be better than this.

Just got my level 2 merchants ship (since I'm now a day behind from going to China last night with tgbob  ).
