Taming an afro.

For the last 5 years my hair has been in dreadlocks. I'm considering cutting it.

However, if I did I dont know what I'd do with it. Its default state is a moderately curly afro. I dont want an afro, I dont want short hair either. I like having moderately long hair that drops down, like this indie kid I am. If I knew could achive that without dreadlocks, I might be more inclined to cut them off.

What could I potentially do to un curl an afro?

    Answer this question VERY CAREFULLY.

Have you made this post before, be it here or in another forum?

    No.

    Why?

I've seen this thread before, and now I'm scared.

    Hold me.

(Sorry, no advice. I've done mini-twists, but no full on dreads. Your options seem like they'll be slim to none if you don't want dreads/mini fro/fade/fro. My only experience with uncurling my hair will make me recall bad, BAD memories of S-Curl kits, S-Curl ripoffs, and a "Just For Me" kit that was surprisingly good.)
