I just got a shirt, and it's got a huge static charge on it - I dare not put it on. I've never really had problems with static, and googling has revealed a whole lot of nothing. I'm not about to buy dryer sheets for a single shirt.
How do I get rid of the static on my one shirt? I've read what there is to read and have come up with nothing useful for a singular article of clothing, just tips on reduction and dryer sheets. Halp.
I'd love to be the one disappoint you when I don't fall down
What kind of shirt is it? You could try spraying it with water in a spray bottle. I also think there are anti-static sprays you can get.
Also, what's the problem with just putting it on? It's not going to hurt you.
It's cotton/polyester at a (gasp) ratio of 50/50
I'm not buying a spray for a single shirt and I'm not simply putting it on because well, I don't want to, dammit. >_>
I'll spray some water on it and see if that helps any.

Why don't you use fabric softener dryer sheets again?
I mean, you can get enough to last you two lifetimes at Costco for $10, and they're well worth it.
The main reason would be that my mom uses half of my house as an office and shuttles my laundry every so often because it would be pretty stupid to get a second W/D set. She hates being told how to do things, and the effort I would have to put in to get it done isn't worth it, as I dont have a static problem to begin with.
(I dont shuttle it myself as it would be a waste of gas because she practically lives in the woods)

I'm...confused. You think that buying $10 (really, $5 will get you a really small pack) constitutes needing to buy a full second Washer/Dryer set?
You realize you can just buy the sheets and rub them on the jacket, right? No washing/drying required?
Edit Add: Since your mom washes your clothes, it's probably a good bet that she has dryer sheets already available. Get her to bring you one if you really care about using ONE AND ONLY ONE SHEET 4EVAR. (Sorry for the snark - it's genetic.)

No, totally, try this. I'll bet you you won't feel a thing.
This.
I mean...
What's the problem here?
You got to shake someone's hands in the next 5 minutes while wearing the sweater?
You're wearing a defective pacemaker that will stop working if you ever receive a static shock?
Put the sweater on.
The shirt is damp and sitting on a metal chair, hopefully that'll put it in its place by morning.
